Building a Transparent and Cost-Effective Drug Spend Strategy

99% of employers believe drug prices are a significant threat to health benefits affordability, according to a 2024 survey of employer members of coalitions that belong to the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchasing Coalitions. And 55% of those believe PBM conflicts of interest represent a significant threat. Moreover, 52% of respondents plan to change PBMs in the next 1-3 years. The fastest-growing PBM strategies include confirming transparent revenue disclosure, comprehensive rebate definition, and flexibility to customize formularies.
